Our Story

About Soccer for Change

Who we are

Soccer For Change is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by high school students Vedanth Rao and Adel Dekhani to encourage the development of soccer in youth, along with all the positive benefits the sport promotes. We believe we can not only boost skills, but build important values such as confidence, teamwork, and leadership — and provide mentors who can guide students through soccer and their futures.

What we do

We provide accessible coaching through free programs. Our high school coaching staff has experience going through the young player pathway and knows what it takes to thrive as an elite soccer player. Your child will learn the skills they need to advance as a young player and build confidence, all while gaining a newfound passion for the sport.

Fundraising Coordinator

Liam has 9 years of club soccer experience, ranging from rec to premier. He is passionate about making the sport more inclusive and impacting the community. He handles all donations and grants.

Atharva Patil

Atharva Patil

Software Lead & Head Coach

Atharva has 13 years of competitive soccer experience with over 10 years at the premier level. He manages the software side of the organization and helps plan and lead camps, focusing on supportive coaching and impactful drills.

Vedanth Rao

Co-Founder

Vedanth has 6 years of premier soccer experience, 2 years of select experience, and is a current player at Interlake High School. He has an ever-growing passion for the sport and loves sharing his skills with others.

Adel Dekhani

Adel Dekhani

Co-Founder

Adel is a high schooler with a passion for fitness and over 3 years of teaching experience with Bellevue Ski School. He has extensive experience working with kids and understands how to create environments where skills flourish.

Summer 2026 Camp — Interest Form

While we haven't finalized specific dates yet due to logistics and fundraising, fill out this form so we can gauge interest and set dates when people are most available. Open to all skill levels — whether your child wants to sharpen skills with position-specific training or just have fun and learn the game, there's a place for everyone.
